DIS & DAT Chairs
Monolithic proportions, dressed in finely-pressed bamboo.
Bamboo's long life makes it a Chinese symbol oflongevity, while in India it is a symbol of friendship. The rarity of itsblossoming has led to the flowers' being regarded as a sign of impendingfamine.

Unlike trees, all bamboo have the potential to grow tofull height and girth in a single growing season of 3 to 4 months. During thisfirst season, the clump of young shoots grow vertically, with no branching. Inthe next year, the pulpy wall of each culm slowly dries and hardens. The culmbegins to sprout branches and leaves from each node. During the third year, theculm further hardens. The shoot is now considered a fully mature culm.

Timber is harvested from cultivated and wild stands andsome of the larger bamboos are known as timber bamboos.  Bamboo used for furniture constructionpurposes must be harvested when the culms reach their greatest strength.
DIS & DAT Chairs, finished in blonde/chocolate and chocolate/blonde.  Just be clear when specifying!
